Workshops, classes, private instruction and group activities for adults and youth.
Clay Works! offers a wide variety of pottery opportunities to experience what is possible with clay; hand building, throwing on a wheel, sculpting, glazing, and more.
If you want to learn to hand build a coffee mug or throw a bowl on the wheel this is the place to get started. Beginners who are totally new to pottery are encouraged to try it all. Our instructors encourage you to work in a way that supports what you want to learn. Please check our Calendar of Events for dates and times!
Beginning or Advanced
Are you an advanced potter and need a place to work? Here, you can have studio access 24-7! If you need help with a specific technique, have glazing or firing questions, or just want to discuss an idea - one of our instructors or mentors will gladly share their knowledge with you.
All Age Levels, Groups and Individuals: Adults, youth, friends, family and organizational events
Pottery instruction is a versatile activity suitable for all ages - it’s perfect for friends, family, parties and organizational activities or a quite solo creative process. Groups enjoy bonding over the creative process, while pottery parties add an extra element of fun to your gathering. Even if your groups has a variety of experience levels our instructors group activities can accommodate them all. Enjoy a hands-on clay experience to foster connection and create lasting memories.
Our workshops and classes are typically project based - meaning you have a finished piece(s) of pottery once the firing and glazing is completed. Our schedule varies throughout the year and if you’d like we will be glad to plan a specific workshop or activity for you and/or your group.
The possibilities are endless just for starters you could. Hand build: a mug with a handle, a luminary (object to put a candle under), a serving dish, kitchen wares, decorative items… Sculpt flowers, animals, human forms, whatever your imaginations comes up with… Throw (on the wheel) a bowl, vase, mug, dish, flower pot…
What about a mini workshops for surface techniques such as glazing, under glazing, stenciling, carving, sgraffito…
Holiday project and community events are also part of what we do at Clay Works. If you don’t see something that peeks your interest on our schedule please contact our instructors to discuss what you’d like to do.
